They captivate us at first glance with their houses of bright colors. Vibrant facades, adorned with wooden balconies and painted doors, create a picturesque and cozy scenario. We will walk through its cobbled streets and discover the architectural wealth that reveals the history of these peoples. We will feel at home with the hospitality of its inhabitants. The authenticity of everyday life in the villages of this region is reflected in the kindness of its people. We will take a deserved rest for lunch in a typical restaurant of the city, enjoy local cuisine and recharge the energies to continue exploring.

We will venture to explore two authentic hidden jewels in the heart of the Colombian coffee axis: the captivating villages of Pijao and Buenavista. Our day begins in the lovely city of Barcelona at a distance of 24 km from the hacienda and that we will travel approximately in 45 minutes, here we will change the vehicles to embark on the iconic Willys jeeps. These classic vehicles, loaded with regional history and culture, will guide us towards hidden treasures, promising a unique experience.

We will begin our trip in Pijao, Heart of Quindío and the first city in Latin America to join Cittaslow, an association that advocates a sustainable lifestyle. With its distinctive snail carved on the doors, Pijao symbolizes the philosophy of living with peace of mind, using natural methods and maintaining a high quality of life. We will visit La Floresta Café, the store of a traditional organic farm, where each cup tells us stories of baristas peasants, dedicated artisans that produce, process and prepare each grain with differentiated methods. By enjoying a cup of coffee, we will not only experience exceptional fragrances and flavors, but also directly support local coffee growers, contributing to the welcome and prosperity of local communities.

Today we will travel through the extensive cocoa plantation in the hacienda, we will visit the nursery where yellow oranges, oranges and red cocoa oranges are mixed with green creating a lovely color palette. After lunch, we will be transferred to the Matecaña International Airport, in the city of Pereira (72 km, 2 hours), from where we will fly to the city of Medellín, where the driver will wait for us to take us to our hotel in the sector "El Poblado".

Today, we begin our fascinating tour of Guatapé, at a distance of 79 km from Medellín that we will travel in approximately 2 hours. Upon reaching the area, our first stop will be in the replica of ancient Peñol, a construction erected in memory of the original city buildings that was flooded for the construction of the hydroelectric tank. Subsequently, we will embark on a boat to navigate along the tank for about an hour. During this picturesque trip, we will explore the fascinating story behind the construction and development of the reservoir, while we delight in the impressive landscapes that surround it.

Once the boat ride ends, we will move at the foot of the imposing stone of Peñol, where we will begin its ascent. This gigantic granite monolith reaches an impressive height of 220 meters, and has 720 steps that will take us to the top. When descending, we will wait for the transfer to the charming city of Guatapé, where we will enjoy a delicious lunch and explore the picturesque streets of the place. Local inhabitants share the rich history of the region through beautiful paintings that decorate the plugs of most buildings and houses in the city.

Today we will say goodbye to Medellín to be transferred again to the José María Córdoba International Airport, from where we will take a flight to Cartagena from the Indies. When landing at the airport, our transfer will wait for us to move directly to the hotel inside the walled city.
